Handpresso

In January 2008, French company Handpresso launched the world’s first truly portable, manual espresso coffee machine. It did not require compressed air, electricity or C02 cartridge. Since then Handpresso has sold more than 400,000 manual or electric machines in France and more than fifty countries internationally.  Today Handpresso makes a complete range of manual and electric machines including on-board Handpresso auto units for use in some high-end luxury automobiles. Handpresso espresso makers are compatible with all of the coffee formats that are currently on the market, for example; E.S.E pods (Easy Serving Espresso), Senseo soft pods and Nespresso capsules, or ground.

A member of the Handpresso Auto Line, the Handpresso Auto Black E.S.E plugs into a car’s 12volt cigarette lighter and brews a rich, flavourful espresso while driving. This model is compact and small enough to fit into a vehicle’s cup-holder. It brews espresso using 7g E.S.E. pods. This simple, convenient set-up makes clean-up easy. In addition to its traditional coffee making abilities, the Handpresso Autoblack E.S.E can also produce hot water from its mini-boiler and generate up to 16 bars of pressure.

Unlike the units made for automotive use, the Handpresso Hybrid is a pump action unit. It is similar in size and articulation to a small bicycle pump. These units can use either ground or pod coffee. Unlike their closest competitor; the Minipresso by Wacaco, the Handpresso Hybrid is made up on only three easily disassembled parts, compared to the Minipresso’s six. The Handpresso Hybrid also allows the user to ‘pre-pump’ and bring the unit up to 16 bars of pressure.
